Rocks with inscriptions

This beautiful and mysterious location is situated near Nahoruby, at the end of a bay of a lake on the Mastník creek. At the spot, you will find a cliff with inscriptions engraved in its upper part. The inscriptions are Czech, German and Latin religious texts with meaning and origin still unclear today. One of the theories has it that they were made by members of the Unity of Brethren, who were hiding in the area at the times of the Czech Reformation in the 16th and 17th centuries. The inscriptions can be reached via a narrow, neat path leading directly through the cliff. Unfortunately, they have been damaged by unknown vandals. But the site is still definitely worth a visit, not only due to its mysterious atmosphere.
